Salmon Stalking

Every fall, the DEP releases a sizeable amount of Atlantic salmon into Connecticut waters.  The salmon, sometimes surpassing 20 pounds, are stocked after doing their duty for the Connecticut River Atlantic Salmon Restoration Program.  These surplus breeders provide a unique fishery that I don't take advantage of enough.  With a sun-soaked day, perfect for spotting salmon, the decision was made for a run up Route 8.  Below are some photographs from a recent trip to the Naugatuck River.
